Snow Xue Gao Spring Summer '23 Collection

Snow Xue Gao Spring Summer '23 Collection

Snow Xue Gao’s modus operandi of East meets West endures after newly opening a flagship store and selecting a location on Bowery Street (between SoHo and Chinatown). Her newest runway show which took place this Tuesday was conveniently set at her flagship store, and it is the first since her FW’19 season at the renowned Museum of Chinese in America (MOCA). The Parsons MFA graduate’s latest dive into the retail fashion world comes after hosting a successful pop-event a couple of months earlier and hopes to captivate the locals and sightseers once again. Her mainstay is elegantly decorated in many traditional Chinese themes and motifs such as wallpaper inspired by Chinese paintings and oriental furniture curated by the designer. For this season, she draws inspiration from the lower Manhattan neighborhood and finds much of her innovation from the cultural liveliness of the store’s surroundings. Gao continues to display her evolution as a brand, and it dazzles this season as she meshes radiant color blocking combinations while staying true to her florally artistic foundation.  Gao’s made in New York brand aims to paint and decorate her blooming collection with an array of geometrically deconstructed mixed prints that are carefully crafted onto vast dresses and tops. Her brand’s creative experimentation with draping along with her signature tailoring is limitless and her playfulness is seen in the details of her avant-garde silk prints.
